In the Year of the Virus is an innovative graphic comic book inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic. The story revolves around several characters affected — and infected —- by the viral outbreak. The text by award-winning writer Felix Cheong, adapted beautifully by artist Eko, examines our humanity as our lives are upended and ended.

About the Author

Felix Cheong is the author of 17 books. His works have been widely anthologised and nominated for the prestigious Frank O’Connor Award and the Singapore Literature Prize. Conferred the Young Artist Award in 2000 by the National Arts Council, he holds a master’s in creative writing and is currently an adjunct lecturer with the National University of Singapore, Murdoch University, University of Newcastle and Curtin University.

About the Illustrator

Eko (Jia He Yi) is an illustrator/animator who graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts. Her works are inspired by the strange and uncanny. Animals and creatures are some of her favourite things to draw. She aspires to become a real local cryptid one day.
